Our vision:

A future where all kids with cancer survive and thrive

The Western Australian Comprehensive Kids Cancer Centre is part of a new era of childhood cancer research. Our unique model brings scientists and clinicians together in a seamless loop, ensuring discoveries in the lab can become real-world treatments, and insights from the clinic – through community voices and clinical insights – continually shape and refine our research.

The devastation of childhood cancer

Cancer is the leading cause of death by disease for Australian children.

Childhood cancers are very different to adult cancers and cannot generally be prevented. That's why we are connecting world‑class research and clinical care to deliver safer, smarter and more effective care now, while building the innovations that will shape the future of childhood cancer care.

About the Centre

The WA Comprehensive Kids Cancer Centre is a collaboration dedicated to transforming outcomes for children with cancer by seamlessly integrating research and clinical care.

By translating world-class research conducted at The Kids Research Institute Australia and The University of Western Australia into quality clinical care delivered at Perth Children's Hospital, we are bridging the gap between discovery and care.

Supported by the Stan Perron Charitable Foundation and Perth Children's Hospital Foundation, the WA Comprehensive Kids Cancer Centre drives innovation from lab to bedside to ensure the best possible outcomes for kids with cancer in Western Australia and beyond.

Patients & families

We understand that parents and families of children diagnosed with cancer can be overwhelmed, exhausted, and searching for certainty in an uncertain world.

Our function is the connection between innovation and treatment, ensuring that every child in WA benefits from the best the world has to offer. That means thinking about the whole child. Not just treating the cancer but caring for the person.

We have brought together resources, information and a range of support services available to help patients, families and communities navigating a childhood cancer diagnosis.

Our focus

We are dedicated to revolutionising cancer treatments and outcomes for children with cancer. The WA Comprehensive Kids Cancer Centre aims to improve outcomes through personalised treatment, clinical trials and evidence driven care for today's kids, and develop breakthrough new treatment approaches for tomorrow's kids.
